Schur Flexibles acquired UNI Packaging from the founder family

MP Corporate Finance acted as advisor to Schur Flexibles Group in the acquisition of UNI Packaging

Headquartered in Averdoingt, France, UNI Packaging is an established supplier for high-quality flexible packaging solutions, including design, co-extrusion, rotogravure, flexography &  digital printing, film lamination, sleeve bag forming, pouch-making and logistics. As a result of its strong focus on innovations UNI Packaging is today a technology leader in Europe and major player in the fast-growing area of digital printing. The company operates a network of seven production sites in France, the UK and Austria.

Schur Flexibles Group provides made-to-measure high-barrier packaging solutions for the food, tobacco and pharmaceutical industries. The group operates 14 specialized production plants in Germany, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Greece and Russia.  Schur Flexibles is expected to increase sales to more than € 500m in 2018, making it one of the top European companies in the industry.

The Caresmel family will retain a minority stake in UNI Packaging and take on an important role in the further development of the group. Through combining the companies’ abilities the group is able to serve customers with an even wider range of tailor-made packaging solutions and realize significant synergies

The acquisition of UNI Packaging perfectly complements Schur Flexibles’ existing business and strengthens its presence in France and the UK.

It allows Schur Flexibles to expand its footprint in the cheese & dairy as well as fresh food & convenience markets and to access UNI Packaging’s proven know-how in digital printing.

Through MP’s support Schur Flexibles was able to close the acquisition in a highly efficient and swift cross-boarder transaction process.
